Our standard external finish is smooth gel-coat, offering excellent chemical and weather resistance in extreme environments. Other external finishes such as simulated brick and stone are available, where environmental considerations are often the overriding design factor in today's harmonic world. An extensive scope of colours is offered from the BS4800 and RAL ranges.

WO-01Our standard internal finish is a white fire retardant resin. Other finishes are available such as ‘flek’ or internal lining.
The wall and roof panel construction of all GRP kiosks is dependent on customer specifications and kiosk size. Most GRP kiosks have a 12mm plywood core encapsulated by fire retardant resin and chopped strand mat glass-fibre. The plywood used is weather and boil proof to BS1203. For larger GRP kiosks other reinforcements such as steel may be encapsulated to satisfy structural design criteria.
All GRP kiosks are designed in accordance with current legislation and European and British standards.
Single, double and multiple leaf outward opening doors are available in an extensive range of sizes. Our manufacturing methods allow us to locate the doors anywhere in the GRP kiosk walls. Doors are constructed in a similar manner to wall panels, but have additional steel reinforcement to prevent warping. Removable or hinged transoms and removable door sills can be fitted to the door to increase accessibility. Roller shutter or uPVC doors are also available if required.
Vandal resistant stainless steel (grade 316) hinges and stainless steel automatic hold open stays are fitted as standard. Double doors are fitted with internal spring bolts to restrain the passive door leaf. Cylinder night-latch locks are fitted as standard, however a comprehensive range of door locking systems are also available.
Our engineers will be able to provide complete technical appraisals and support to ensure your GRP Acoustic Kiosk satisfies your acoustic requirements. Variables such as kiosk size, location, apertures, penetrations, frequency and sound levels are all critical in evaluating the construction required. Most GRP Acoustic kiosks will provide a 24dB(A) noise reduction over an octave band centre frequency of 31.5Hz to 8KHz, however sound attenuations up to 40dB(A) could be achieved. If required acoustic tests can be carried out by independent experts to demonstrate the attenuation levels attainable.
Standard GRP kiosk construction will provide an insulation 'U' value of 2.2 W/m2/ºC. Increased levels of insulation up to 0.3 W/m2/ºC could be attained.
Different levels of natural ventilation are available as integral parts of the kiosk wall or roof. There are many types of vents currently offered: stainless steel louvre vents, uPVC brick vents, aluminium powder coated louvre vents, all supplied with internal screens. Forced ventilation can be incorporated using fans or air conditioning. External GRP weatherproof cowls can also be fitted where required. Further details and design calculations on natural and forced ventilation can be obtained from our design team.
Our standard GRP kiosk construction will provide half hour fire resistance, compliant with BS476 Part 22 (Retention of stability, integrity and insulation). Fire retardant resin is used to form a self extinguishing laminate to BS476 Part 7 Class 2 (Surface spread of flame). Increased levels of protection can be offered if required.
A comprehensive range of floor options are currently available. GRP single membrane floors for small cabinets, and composite load bearing floors and steel sub-frames for larger GRP kiosks. All steel sub-frames are produced in our in-house steel fabrication department, and are supplied as standard with certified integral lifting points, and are shot blast, zinc primed and painted to BS5493 Table 3 Part 3.
Most GRP kiosks are manufactured to a minimum IP54 protection rating. Increased levels of protection can be attained up to IP65.
Lighting, heating and small power are common additions to GRP kiosks. For transportable GRP kiosks the electrical installation can be carried out at our factory, and indicative insulation and continuity tests taken. If the GRP kiosk is assembled on site, we can arrange for the wiring to be done following erection. All wiring is in accordance with IEE regulations and customer specifications. An extensive catalogue of additional electrical items is available on request.
Where there is potential for an explosion within a GRP kiosks it is possible to control the explosion and minimise its capacity for damage and harm. Explosion relief roofs are standard on all Gas Governor Housings, and are an economical and effective method to increase safety.
An extensive range of viewing windows are available. Options include standard toughened or laminated safety glass, or double glazed aluminium and uPVC windows.
We will supply a general arrangement drawing as standard on all items. This will be in AutoCAD format and is emailed for customer approval within an agreed period from the start of the contract. We also supply Method Statements, Risk Assessments and Crane Plans where required. All Method Statements, Risk Assessments and Crane Plans are compiled by a qualified ‘Appointed Person’.
In accordance with our policy of continuous development and improvement, we reserve the right to make changes in design and specification without notice.
